The Benefits of Sharing: How Producing Free Educational Materials Helps Both You and the World
In 1999 the book "How to think like a computer scientist" was translated from the Java programming language to the Python programming language. It has since been updated and translated several more times by various authors, and is now available in an interactive version. The World Wide Web and new tools for on-line collaboration made this possible. In this conversation the facilitator will share his experience producing free on-line educational materials and discuss with participants the opportunities and obstacles to sharing educational resources on-line.
